Real Steel
Real Steel is a 2011 American science fiction sports action film starring Hugh
Jackman and Dakota Goyo, co-produced and instructed by Shawn Levy for DreamWorks
Pics. The film is based on the short story "Steel", provided by Richard
Matheson, which was originally published in the May 1956 edition from the
Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and later adapted into a 1970
Twilight Zone episode, though screenwriter Tom Gatins placed the film in
Oughout.S. state fairs and other "old-fashioned" Americana settings. Real Steel
was in development for several years before synthesis began on June 24, 2010.
Filming took place primarily in the Ough.S. state of Michigan. Animatronic
robots were built for the film, and motion capture technology was utilized
depict the brawling of computer-generated bots and animatronics.
